THERE is still no end in sight for those caught up in the Beechwood Homes collapse, with fresh fears the company will be liquidated if a buyer cannot be found.
The receiver set a deadline of this week for the two front runners to raise the money to buy the company.
If this fails, the company will be liquidated, meaning it is unlikely those tradesmen owed money will be paid for their work.
The Office of Fair Trading is reviewing reports issued by administrators Armstrong Wily regarding the Beechwood group of companies.
Fair Trading Minister Linda Burney said if the companies were found to have breached the Home Building Act, action could be taken.
The report will also be sent to ASIC to investigate if there were any breaches of corporation law.
This followed allegations that money was transferred from the company's accounts into trust funds before administrators were called in.
Other companies owned by its boss, Larry King, are also thought to owe millions to Beechwood Homes, with a net debt of at least $8 million, according to the State Opposition.
Creditors voted last week to give the administrator 28 days to complete its investigation linto Mr King's business dealings.
At least seven Beechwood Homes in St George and Sutherland Shire were under construction or under contract when the company collapsed in May.
