Auction to help road trauma victims

Auction to help road trauma victims

5/07/2008 4:00:00 AM
A CHARITY organisation set up by hit-and-run victim Jenny Franco is having its gala fund-raising launch dinner on Saturday, July 26.

The event is being held at Doltone House, Jones Bay Wharf, with proceeds going to fund True Light's education and information programs for victims of road trauma, and their families.

Money raised will also be put towards a venue where families can take a break from the day-to-day challenges that face them.

Ms Franco set up the foundation after she was hit by a car outside her family home in Miranda in February 2007 and dragged for several hundred metres.

The driver has not been found.

Donated items to be raffled or auctioned on the night include a luxury holiday to the Philippines, a P&O Pacific cruise, a day trip in a Rolls-Royce or Bentley and Grange Hermitage wines.

Tickets cost $150 each.

RSVP by July 14 by phoning 97992480.
