Community gathers to farewell Graham Bingle

A large crowd gathered last Friday for a thanksgiving service to farewell Graham Bingle, much loved Yowie Bay resident and father of model Lara Bingle and her brother Josh.

It was standing room only for many of the family and friends who came to pay their respects at the Gymea Baptist Church, Kirrawee.

Mr Bingle, 55, died from pancreatic cancer last week.

He was well known for his love of surfing and being a strong family man who enjoyed a good laugh.

His wife Sharon, was comforted by family and friends outside the church and Ms Bingle's fiance and Sutherland Shire cricketer, Michael Clarke, also attended.

He delayed his plans to tour the West Indies with the Australian cricket team to support her when Mr Bingle became increasingly ill.

After the service, Ms Bingle spoke to family from inside a black Range Rover, before they left for a private function at Yowie Bay.

Travel reporter Laura Csortan, who is Ms Bingle's co-host on Channel Nine's new travel series Holidays For Sale, also attended.

Whilst he wasn't here for a long time, he had a good time, R.I.P.
