THE case of Sylvania man Todd Munter, accused of murdering a grandfather in a row over water restrictions, has been held up again because of his application for legal aid. Munter, of Port Hacking Road, appeared in Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday where the case was adjourned until July 29.
The court heard Munter will then be unavailable for four weeks as he has to go to hospital for a back operation.
Munter, 37, is accused of attacking Ken Proctor, 66, while watering his lawn at Sylvania on October 31 last year.
He allegedly called Mr Proctor a ``stupid old goat'' because he wrongly believed the grandfather was ignoring water restrictions. Mr Proctor is then said to have turned the hose on Munter who punched him, pushed him to the ground and kicked him.
Psychiatric request
A CRONULLA man who is alleged to have killed his partner has had his court case adjourned for preparation of a psychiatric report.
Geofrey Lance Ryan, 63, of Seaview Street, is accused of murdering Hazel McLoon, 68, at their home on October 30, 2007.
He appeared in Sydney's Central Local Court via video link on June 24, with the case adjourned until August 5.
DNA tests needed
A MAN who allegedly carried out a robbery in Hurstville before being driven off in a stolen car has had his case adjourned for DNA testing.
Bradley Scott Colquhoun, 22, appeared in Central Local Court on Tuesday charged with robbery, being carried in a stolen car and carrying equipment to break into a car.
He is yet to enter a plea to any of the charges.
Colquhoun, of The River Road, Revesby, is alleged to have stolen two mobile phones from a person in Hurstville on May 15.
Police allege he was then seen in a stolen car about an hour later.
He was later arrested 500 metres from a stolen Nissan Pulsar after a chase.
Colquhoun was remanded in custody until July 29.
Shot with speargun
A TEENAGER accused of shooting an off-duty Hurstville police officer with a speargun is in jail waiting for his girlfriend to come up with a $5000 surety.
James Patrick Larkin, 18, of Nicholson Parade, Cronulla, is alleged to have shot the constable after stealing a mobile phone from a woman he was with in Cronulla on Friday.
Larkin has been charged with robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon, wounding, using an offensive weapon to avoid lawful detention, possessing a prohibited weapon and stealing.
He appeared in Central Local Court on Tuesday after being given bail at Sutherland Local Court on the previous Friday, on condition his partner make a $5000 surety payment.
The money has yet to be handed over and Larkin is still in custody.
He is due back in court on August 12.
