WITH a "Your Shire, Your Sharks'' campaign this season, football club membership has grown by 33 per cent, but Cronulla Sharks are calling their loyal fans to arms.
The club wants fans to attend all remaining home games at Toyota Stadium, starting this Sunday afternoon against the Eels.
Despite the bitterly cold conditions on Saturday night, against a New Zealand team that doesn't bring many supporters, Sharks coach Ricky Stuart was disappointed by the 9000-crowd figure.
With the majority of their remaining games to be played at their refurbished home ground, Toyota Stadium, the Sharks have made a ``call to arms'' for fans to turn up and make the ground one that opposing clubs don't forget in a hurry like the old days.
"We're doing our part, so we want the fans to come out and actively back us,'' Stuart said.
"We have a passionate fan-base, but not enough of them. I feel sorry for the players, the loyal supporters and sponsors and Cronulla Sharks Supporters group because they deserve more support.''
The Sharks are offering a 20 per cent discount on ticketing memberships, organising more autograph sessions and more barbecues, and targeting more families to join them.
